They have set up practice in a vibrant, socially mobile part of Bristol, where there is still real poverty and an ethnic mix to rival bigger cities. Their detective agency is not an office but a shop with a large display window and an old-fashioned bell, which tinkles when anyone enters - like a sweet shop.
Are you looking for an English setting, where reality rarely breaches the garden wall? Oh dear, this is definitely not for you, the story is far too quirky, often bizarre, sometimes downright brutal for your delicate tastes.
Are you looking for graphic sex? I am afraid you will be disappointed.
Sex appears quite frequently, usually in the context of staff relationships and is invariably colourful, humourous and exciting.
