Along the Road: The Journey of Faith

Stories are powerful tools of communication. As God inspired His writers to pen the pages of His Word, He knew that His prize creation, His humans, would be deeply moved and taught with stories. That's why the Bible is highly narrative in nature. When we read stories of real people who lived long ago, in a world far, far away, we identify with them. We get them. We understand their struggles and successes, their flaws and failures, the joy in their victories, and the agony in their defeat.Many of these stories from Scripture happened "as they went" along the road to somewhere else. Whether it was an encounter with an armed angel while riding on a talking donkey (yes that happened), a conversation with a man who had a hidden identity, or the long road travelled to worship a toddler king, real people walked real roads and learned real lessons from a real God. As we travel the roads of life, sometimes we can get so focused on our current road, that we fail to notice what God is trying to teach us through that experience. The big question we all must answer is: What does God want to teach you along the road you're on right now? I believe we may find some answers as we walk this journey of faith together.
