Excuse or Circumstance: A Memoir

The roots of this book sprouted from a strong desire to give back and, in the process, help me discharge a debt I owe the community. But most of all, this book is about packaging the life I had-growing up in single parent household in inner-city sections of Baltimore, dealing drugs, and spending a substantial portion of my early adult life in prison-in a way that can benefit others. It is but one of the vehicles I have chosen to impart the many lessons I have learned and spread, with humility, my hard-earned and long overdue truth. I hope my experience conveys that hope exists for us all, whether for the most hardened criminal, cold hearted, and uninformed or the most unfortunate through no fault of their own. Never lose hope for a better way. Know that, for each of us, the future holds something bright. Life is a blessing. It might take some hard times to realize it. It might challenge us like we have never imagined or wanted. But every tunnel has light at its end. I pray you and yours find and bask in that light, without excuse, no matter what the circumstances.
