By the time we got home, it was late, and we were exhausted. My dreams consist of being back at Mount Rushmore and in the caverns inside it. I could still feel the dampness on my face and hear the water dripping down on the rock from above, slowly eroding it over time and the smell of wet granite that permeated our clothing. My IPhone ringer rattled me awake,
"Hello," I said, groggy and half asleep.
"Agent Elkin" said the voice I had grown to hate? "Oh my God! Don't you people ever sleep? It's 3AM," I replied!
"The US Government never sleeps," he said.
"Yes, I'm realizing that, what can I do for you director if I dare ask?" I said. "Again, I want to extend my congratulations on finding the Civil War gold. "I don't think I need to tell you how great of an achievement it is," he said. "Oh, you don't have to thank us, the nightmares and years of therapy we'll need are thanks enough.
"So what do I owe the pleasure?" I ask.
"Are you familiar with the term Sasquatch or Bigfoot?"
"Please tell me your kidding? "There has been no proof this thing is real," I said condeming the directors assertion.
"The CIA begs to differ, for the past 200 years, there have been over 100,000 accounts. Quite a few from law enforcement and military personnel." "Have you ever heard of the story, "The Ape of Saigon?"
"I don't think so," I said.
"It was back in 69, right in the middle of the Vietnam War. They tasked a group of Marines to fly right above the tree cover and take out snipers that may hide there. Well, the story goes on one particular mission, they spotted what they originally thought to be a man about 100 feet off the ground in one of these trees. They quickly realized it was not human," the director explained.
