A Totally Terrifying Zombie Apocalypse Love Story

The small town of Edwardsville, NY hasn't been kind to teen mom Sara Molloy. She works two jobs to make a life for her deaf toddler. All her hopes turn to ash when her younger brother and his best friend accidentally burn down her crappy apartment over the local laundromat. Turns out homelessness is only the start of Sara's woes--a bad batch of back-to-school vaccines is turning everyone into zombies!

Ex-Marine Patrick Bannon and his military dog, Tatum, barely survived six years of service in the Middle East. Scars both physical and emotional have followed the pair back to upstate New York. Patrick never wanted to see Edwardsville again, but at least his job as night manager of the local salvage yard doesn't demand much. Until the night Sara Molloy turns up covered in soot with her kid, her brother, and her bad attitude. Patrick knows trouble when he sees it. Yet even he isn't prepared for the new war headed his way.

**NOTE TO READERS: This is a retelling of the author's 2016 horror novel Dead Town. That story was told from the first-person perspective of 14-year-old Scotty Molloy. This version focuses on the romance between his sister Sara Molloy and ex-Marine Patrick Bannon. Chapters alternate between the pair and are in third-person. The changes in point-of-view resulted in substantial changes to the original novel. About 85% of the material is either new or greatly altered. The two books each stand alone. However, they also enhance and enrich each other. They do not need to be read in any particular order. One other point--the paperback version of this retelling was originally released in February 2021 with the title Dead Town: The Romance and a cover that echoed the original. Linking them so closely seemed like a neat idea at the time, but Amazon's search engine was not amused. Due to the resulting confusion, the book had to be pulled and republished with a completely new title and cover.
