I have experienced this myself. I am an amputee from above my left knee. I lost the rest to a landmine 28 years ago when I was in my early 20s. When I think about what I want to have in life, particularly when in bed before falling asleep, the one thing in my mind is the desire to have my leg back and its pain to go away. I know this is impossible, yet I keep wishing and praying for it to happen miraculously.
