Spring 1936, Chief Inspector Marc Mercier, of the S?ret? Nationale, Counterintelligence unit, along with his alluring former spy and now archaeologist wife Marie, are once again faced with a mystery, this time at the Louvre museum. Marie is assisting at the Mus?e du Louvre, as part of her graduate archaeology program, in the Department of Greek, Etruscan, and Roman Antiquities. While checking the exhibits she finds a beautiful woman cruelly murdered...

Once again crime and espionage rears its head and danger stalks the sophisticated cafes and nightclubs of the Parisian interwar period.
