I was inspired to write 'Shirley's Lighthouse' because of my own daughter's challenges, her emotional struggles to understand that her parents often do things that (at her age; she's 7) don't present much value to her, and because of the time they need to do those things, they can not always have time to spend it with her.
Shirley's Lighthouse is a short story for children that touches the problem of separation anxiety and aims to teach children healthy boundaries, promotes child's emotional development.
