In 48 BC Julius Caesar's Civil War had been ravaging the lands of the Mediterranean for over a year. In need of funds to maintain his war effort the Roman General traveled down to Egypt to call on the debt owed to him by the ruling Ptolemy family. What he found upon arriving however would come to change the course of history. The Ptolemy siblings were in a bitter political feud with one another.
