I was on my break at work, and I could hardly wait to rest my tired body. I had just returned from my trip to Puerto Rico for my birthday in 2020, and I remember being so eager to be back at work as I had taken the two-week quarantine as well. There I was dragging myself to the staff launch to rest when I heard a voice in my spirit say, "Miss America." I immediately googled, and in seconds I was eager to participate. It was such a strange feeling because I was not thinking about it prior to that day. I have always admired Pageants, but I never saw myself as one, especially since I'm already married and in my late 30's. Hearing this voice and having such a sudden desire for pageantry was bizarre. As I realized I couldn't run for Miss America, I googled "Mrs. America." I just knew there was no such thing, and that's when I saw links to "Mrs. New York America." I applied, and a few days later, I received an email to book an appointment for an interview. I received a call from Diane Hardgrove (Former Mrs. World, Mrs. America & Mrs. Arizona) as scheduled, and that was the day I began my journey. I didn't know what to expect, but she did tell me the entry fees and requirements, which I paid the first half the very next day. A friend of mine sponsored me. "Venerable Edeh."
