The Telemarketer

If you've owned a cell phone for the past ten years, then you've most likely been bombarded by every type of phone solicitor in operation today. They operate both nationally and internationally with the sole purpose of taking your hard-earned money to line their own bank accounts. The cost to just American's number into billions of dollars each year, reaching almost 20 billion in 2020, but their reach knows no bounds and makes these phone solicitors a point of contention for many worldwide. Fantasizing about catching one of these scammers has ran through the minds of many, but what would happen if someone finally caught up to the telemarketer in person? How would he or she react when given the same treatment they gave to so many?

Bikram, a telemarketer by trade, finds out the hard way that no matter how good you are at what you do, there is always somebody out there better. He thinks of pride as his trophy, but it only serves as a blindfold, causing him to under-estimate the wrong individual who decides to bring back to Bikram all the curses let loose by him in the first place.

Bikram will be given every opportunity to make it right but must choose between his pride and his redemption. He was raised well enough by his family, especially his father, to know the right thing to do, but it's Bikram's choice to make and no one else's.

The Telemarketer offers social commentary on several issues that plague us every day including the hypocrisies that govern our society. The Telemarketer tries to answer the question to what could happen if a supreme authority held all of us to the standards we claim to live by and easily enforce onto others, but never actually follow ourselves. It's one thing to say it, but it's something else entirely to live and do it, and through the lens of the main character, you will see if all unfold. Bikram will definitely inherit a newfound appreciation of his place in this world, a world filled with highly capable individuals who have been waiting for the best moment to make a challenge.
