Cyber Wars of Matangi
Cyber Wars of Matangi
The story of a first ever Woman Cyber Super Hero !!!!
For many adults, the task of explaining cyber threat and security is rather intimidating since kids don't understand what a cyberattack is and how it affects a computer. However, starting a discussion about online safety at an early age is highly recommended because that's when most of the children begin using the Internet. Also due to the pandemic, we all know kids, even younger ones are spending a lot of time online these days as schools are running online classes andkids are exposed to online material too early in their ages. As the result of that our young ones are being bullied online. Experiencing online abuse can have a devastating impact on kids mental health and sense of safety As we all know the threats are similar to those that affect adults. However, the way in which cybercriminals try to get to children is very different. For example, an adult may be tricked into downloading some sort of software while a kid may be attracted to click on a link to a "fan site" that contains lots of free media containing malware. So, the child may be tempted to get some free music or movies, but they may not realize that they'll get a virus instead.
The book revolves around a woman super hero Matangi who fights cyber crime breaking all the stereotypes that women cant do technology or geeks cant fight. The character is based on a goddess in Indian mythology. She is one of the goddesses who is considered to govern speech, music, knowledge and the arts. Her worship is prescribed to acquire supernatural powers, especially gaining control over enemies, attracting people to oneself, acquiring mastery over the arts and gaining supreme knowledge. She is described as an outcaste and offered left-over or partially eaten food with unwashed hands or food after eating, both of which are considered to be impure in classical Hindu Mythology. Matangi is a woman super hero and a vigilante. Hacking is one of her skills, she is also a first-rate martial artist, a master lock picker and an exceptional escape artist.
This is my attempt to engage kids to learn about cyber security and harms, and attract more women to cyber security from early age by making cyber learning more interesting and fun. I have planned a trilogy and this is the first book of the 3 books in the series. As cyber security is considered a boring topic, its important that the learning is passed on to the kids subtly while they enjoy the reading and illustration. This is my way of giving back to the communities that I have lived in and gained from. The profits earnings from the sale of this book will be donated to the forums such as Women in Cyber security and groups working against cyber bullying. ThanksPramod Kuksal
