Bella Doesn't Like Broccoli is a rhyming poem, suitable for children ages two years up, however there is no real limit on age, as this poem could be enjoyed by adults and children alike. The activities at the back of the book are possibly more directed at children from six years upwards, with adult supervision. Full of beautiful child friendly illustrations, rhyming words, activity's and fun, this book aims to teach children about how healthy and fun a colourful diet that includes lots of fruit and vegetables can be. Bella may not like broccoli, but the rhyme was written to encourage children to discuss their likes and dislikes, in order to see that there will be at least one or two vegetables that they actually do like. Everyone has different tastes, but that's okay.
Author and poet Nicola L Meekin has written and published the adult poetry books The Rambling Rhymes of an Imperfect Mind, and The Rambling Rhymes of an Imperfect Mind Ramble On. This however, is the Author's first children's book, and her first attempt at illustrating her work.
