Blood and Guts: The Making of a Legend

It's been quoted that He said, "Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it.... Whoever serves me must follow me". The Bible was written in
tears and through our countless tears it yields its best gifts and treasures.
"...My tears tell me something about the secret of who I really am..."
I believe my closest, deepest connection and communion with God almost always comes through the shedding of my tears. I have learned through my lifetime, that if grapes aren't crushed, there can't be any wine. Point being, if what I call my life isn't crushed, there will never be the deepest, closest and most intimate communion with my Abba. Looking back in my past, I can remember never wanting to cry again, but having deepened my relationship with God since moving here over 12 years ago, I honestly want and hope to cry more often. My tears create a stream that leads me deep into my heart, and there is where I encounter God and have discovered what it is that God treasures and values most. To me, this represents a brand new way of looking at life, a richer and fuller way in which pain, chaos and sadness can be embraced. Not out of some weird, dysfunctional neurotic desire to suffer, but entering into it with the awareness that something brand new will rise out of the ashes and be reborn. The Lord Himself says: "When a woman is in labor, she has pain, because her hour has come. But when her child is born, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy of having brought a human being into the world".
