The Abundant Life: ""...I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly."" John 10:10b

That which is the best life has to offer is usually hidden. Treasure calls to us from its concealment, "Find me; find life!" The camouflage that keeps the naive, the greedy, the exploiter from discovering God's true abundance is the old rugged Cross. Simply put, Seek to save your life and you will lose it; lose your life for Jesus and you'll find it--abundantly!What first appears to threaten our safety is actually the Lord's guarantee for success. To enjoythis mastery we will need to change how we look at life, and make a habit of using God's spiritual laws to our advantage rather than allowing our enemy to use them to destroy us! The Christian life was designed by Jesus to be simple. Kids can enjoy God's bounty. The road is hardest, however, for the selfish and stubborn! There are two truths in the New Testament thatwe need to work with. The first, if we are a born-again Christian, is that we are complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10). The second reality is we need to renew our mind (Ephesians 4:23), or in other words, grow in maturity. Survival traits, immaturity and selfishness needs to be dealt with. The spiritual way is via the Cross of Christ. Trying harder, self-discipline and a long list of "Do's and Don't's" might squeeze us into compliance but that's not God's best. He wants us to team up with the Holy Spirit and thereby take advantage of supernatural power to be conformedto the image of His Son, the Lord Jesus. This isn't a one-time quick fix like salvation, but rather is an exciting, life-long journey. This adventure is called the abundant life.You're probably well along on this trek, but let's see if we can learn even more as we share together.
