As a caregiver to someone diagnosed with dementia, I encourage you to approach each day anew; just as your loved one is. Do not fret or overthink your decisions or reactions of every incidence. Be kind to yourself as you are handling a great challenge without any definitive answers. Therefore, allow grace to enter each day for yourself and your loved one. Travel this journey together, enjoying every moment you each have left with one another. Embrace the arduous days with patience for them and yourself while savoring the days of contentment. I urge you, as the caregiver, to use some form of reprieve from each day, even if it is categorized as a good day or not.
