The week-long holiday festivities are interrupted when a valuable letter from the Revolutionary War is stolen from the town museum. The rucksack contents, like the Bartlett children's different personalities, contain a variety of tools and gadgets they use to help solve mysteries. The Bartlett's research the history of the stolen letter, and discover a mysterious spy network General George Washington used during the Revolutionary War. The Rucksack Kids must discover who would be motivated to steal the document before the holiday ends, and all the suspects leave Wolfhollow.
