Understanding My Purpose: Finding Your Identity In Christ

Knowing who you are is pivotal to who you become. Knowing who you are, not who you think you should be, determine the path you take and also the roles you will play to fulfil your destiny. Like many, I have struggled to find the answer to the questions: Who am I? What am I here for? And until I found the answer, I was restless, troubled, unsettled. During the process of my quest to find myself, I lost myself in various roles, by becoming who others wants me to be, because I did not know who I was. Finding my identity unlocks my destiny and empowered me to be who I am, not who I think I should be or who others wants me to be. In the pages of this book, I hope that those who are struggling to understand who they are, will find direction, they will find some answers that will help guide them to their destiny. Power is linked to identity and Identity unlocks destiny. When you know who you really should be it puts you at an advantage and position you to complete your God-given assignment. Finding your identity empowers you to be who you are created to become. This knowledge frees you to become the best version of you that you could be. No one can do what you are here to do. You are the only one who can do it! You are unique, one of a kind. Only you can be you! Only you can 'do' you! Your gifts and abilities are what you can do. Your experiences are the things that happen to you. Your passion is the thing or things that you care about. Your heart at best is fickle, it changes with the tide, because it is tied to your emotions. None of these define who you are. Yet, your purpose is wrapped up in who you are and is the very reason for your existence. Who you are, the way you think about yourself, the way you are viewed by the world and the characteristics that define you; all are clues to your identity.
