Why IS THE HUMAN SO Cruel?: What makes US so Rotten?

I am being called negative but I do feel that the cruel side of human nature has been always more prominent than the better side in proportion of 70:30.Humanity has many words and explanations to cover up its known negative emotional state; something that is nowadays called to be in "DENIAL". We have enough cleverness to know what is not good and needs to be hidden. Deceit and cunning is in-built in our machinations. We are deeply aware of it as can be seen in the philosophical and religious treatises around but we prefer to explain it away in a million ways.My only point when I speak out is that humanity needs to get out of this denial aspect so that we can all bask in the basic goodness that there is in this world and maximize it.Unfortunately what I have seen is that given an opportunity, social conditions permitting people do permit their cruel, negative side to emerge and take advantage of the situation. I have been talking a lot on this aspect lately. Mainly because I feel in the present time this tendency is raising its head in a vigorous way. Technology and the tools now available to us have made inflicting hurt, propagating our desires and spreading our tentacles real easy.We need to really wake up to this before we have destroyed the planet and our habitat and ourselves.The tendency of bringing everything down to the common lowest level is hurting progress in human evolution.In the guise of being kind, humanity has junked "effort and expression" by talking of rights and deciding to wallow in the quagmire they are. When you talk of raising standards, they talk of not interfering and letting people be or find their own way. Weak characters will unleash their cruel and violent side while the stronger ones will show kindness and compassion. The violent ones for now are having the upper hand.
