Herbert, in RCAF uniform, and I, a recent college graduate were married on Valentine's Day in 1943. We spent our first two years travelling across Canada from air force station to air force station, he as an armaments instructor, I as a camp follower, until Herb was demobbed Xmas 1945. We returned to Westmount, Quebec, where we had both grown up. We had five children, a daughter and four sons. I pursued my career as an artist, he as a business man. We both played tennis, he squash, I badminton. Herb was a good skier, I terrible. We joined the Humanist Fellowship, made many new friends which enlarged our lives. We travelled the world by ship, plane, and car, leaving in the care of helpers our children, who survived it all. We lived a full and happy life together for 72 years. This is our story.
