Solution Techniques for Sudoku puzzles are described for Related Values Chaining, Chain Trees, and Chaining Methods, which are based on "xy-chaining". And for the non-chaining techniques Corners, junior Exocet, BigFish and Two Segments. A description of xy-chaining is included.Solution steps are described in detail for twenty-two example puzzles.Related Values Chaining extends xy-chaining to analyze row-, column- and box- interactions between chain links and cells that are not part of the chain. A group of two or more chains are considered. Related values analysis can solve puzzle cells that are not links in the chain, and can determine additional cells that can be used as chain links, leading to longer chains.Tree Chaining extends xy-chaining for multiple branches and incorporates Related Values Chaining. A "Chain Tree" is a multi-branched chain.The Chaining Methods extend xy-chaining to allow a three-, four- or five- valued cell, or a pair of three-valued cells to be included. The Corners Technique considers a single candidate value and looks for a pattern across multiple cells in four boxes that form the corners of a rectangle.The junior Exocet Technique is for 9 x 9 Sudoku puzzles only. It uses a complicated pattern involving ten main and eighteen secondary cells.The BigFish Techniques consider a single candidate value and look for a pattern across sets of four, nine, sixteen or twenty-five cells.The Two Segments Techniques are for 16 x 16 Sudoku puzzles only. They consider a single candidate value and look for a pattern involving four, aligned, boxes.
