Train Station

It is the early 1990's. Adam is a college student from a small, Texas town who leaves his family and his life to escape on the boxcar of a train. On his journey, he has a series of flashbacks and dreams. In his thoughts and through the haunting images of his subconscious, he reflects on the life from which he is running, as well as the life to which he is headed. He is tortured by his homosexuality and how that will affect his ability to find love, happiness and acceptance in his life. In his odyssey to escape his past, he is manipulated by his dreams and nightmares, and he struggles to figure out what is real and what is happening inside his mind. He finds companionship on his expedition when he meets Crystal, who is facing her own demons. In his dream state, he is rescued and guided by Pete, a lost soul trying to find his way back home. This novel by Andrew Hinojosa is a coming-of-age story that explores questions of spirituality, sexual awakening, and how one young man discovers his true path and identity in life.
