Heartland Home: Three Generations in the Kitchen

There is nothing in the world that stirs the memories of family quite like a meal. The recipes here are a collection of three generations of cooks making memories together. Some were things we created ourselves, others were family tradition, and a few from friends. From the entrees, sides, and salads, to the wonderful desserts, and beyond, each one was lovingly selected to create the perfect family scrapbook of kitchen memories. There are even a few recipes from relatives farther back that come from handmade journals, with the 'receipts' written in fountain pen on long-faded pages. I hope they inspire you to create some special memories of your own. There are plenty of recipes for sweets, for which I am most well known. I have also included a good number of entrees and side dishes, assorted other baked goods, some good pickles, and a collection of really great appetizers. I am sure you will find the perfect recipe to make whatever it is that you are hungry for--I always do! There are even some blank pages for you to add your own recipes to help make this a treasured keepsake for your family, too.
