F**k the Fairytale: My Escape From Corporate America

F**k the Fairytale has nothing to do with Cinderella stories and glass slippers. Although the language may seem aggressive it is really an expression of the anger one feels as an African American woman in corporate America. The stress of waking up everyday wanting to be great and constantly being put in positions where you are limited and have to pretend to be someone is not a fairytale at all. In fact, it is a nightmare that you simply want to wake up from and can't.

My everyday reality was that I am an educated black woman with a master's degree who is good at what she does, but intimidating to those around me. Due to this intimidation I have found myself fired from jobs that I was great at.

The frustration and stress of it all finally forced me to see my purpose. My stepfather always told me to "Get My Own". Through this book you will take a journey with me through the highs and lows of corporate America. You will experience all the emotions and feelings of loss and hopelessness.

Although the journey has not been easy, it has gotten me to where I am today as a successful entrepreneur. The purpose of this book is to encourage you and let you know that you can overcome. This is not just a book it is a movement. A movement that will inspire and bring courage to others to not settle for what is safe but use their gifts to start their business. My passion is to help those who feel stuck in corporate America and teach them how to create the fairytale they truly desire.
