My entire life I felt...different. A round peg desperately trying to fit in the square hole. I followed the rules, did what I was told and expected of me, but this nagging feeling continued to fester deep within. No matter amount of big life milestones could simmer this flame and the longer I went, the more I achieved, the deeper it burned. As a child your ultimate goal in life is to fit in, to find friends, to blend -- then as an adult you create this life that your friends and family all see as a success -- but what if it isn't what you want, what if all that you feel inside is an animal that yearns to be free? Taking the risk and finding my new path was the hardest decision I have ever made and the most selfish. I am not a selfish person and with each step, I felt the foundation of my world crumble around me. I struggled, questioned myself, and finally hit rock bottom. With the support from family and friends, I was able to stand up again, on my own two feet, dust myself off and finally begin to live the life I had only dreamed of. This is my story through my hardships, my successes, my failures, my blunders, my terrible choices, and everything in between. I am far from perfect, I am flawed, I make mistakes but I wake up every single day grateful, blessed, and living my fabulous life. On my terms.
