The Factory: Visions from a Night at the Factory

After two academically unremarkable years in college, I was even more uncertain of which way to proceed. Plus, even though I had worked a part-time job for the whole two years and planned to continue that, I was still short on funds. So, I made the decision to lay out of college in the next year and work to save up money for the remainder of my schooling. That's when I went to The Factory. A third shift job in a new department at the factory with only a few staff gave me the opportunity to spend a lot of my time thinking...and even writing. The machines I worked at had minutes between each cycle and I, as the operator, had to remain at the machine and be prepared to start the next cycle when it was time. Somewhere along the line I cut up these huge sheets of paper we used between layers of product, and folded and cut them down to the size of a paperback book. I began writing my observations and thoughts in these little booklets, and so began the writings that made up The Factory, and Visions... I kept those booklets all these years, and even typed up the writings within...but I never took it farther than that...until now. These are just a part of the writings that kept me going...and kept me I guess, kind of sane during my year at The Factory. I hope you find some value in them.
