Join Dr. David Cliness, as he invites you on this fascinating journey into the Inner Consciousness: Dr. Cliness shares, "First, this book is about a Psychotherapeutic process that I refer to as "Spontaneous Imagery" in which the client is led into a relaxed state to the degree that he or she produces images. The focus of the work is on such images that emerge from the unconscious, rather than images or content suggested by the therapist.Second, four case studies are presented as examples of this approach being applied. More importantly, it is about the courageous and often painful journey that each person takes into the depths of their unconscious. Rather than just alleviating symptoms, it is about healing one's life by accessing those parts of the self that need to be faced and processed as part of the healing process. To be sure, part of this process includes facing one's repressed dark or shadow side.Third, during these journeys, the unconscious is brought forward to be explored and examined. Such journeys revealed the structure of the unconscious and the vast array of consciousness that exist there. For example, what one finds is what I refer to as the Collective Consciousness where many generations of unfulfilled human life exist and which also becomes part of the healing process.Fourth, this book reveals the many facets of the healing process that are inherent in the unconscious. Many examples of the Supra Consciousness are demonstrated within the context of the case studies. Sometimes it functions unnoticed in the background or it may be presented as guides such as the guardian angel or the master healer. The Supra Consciousness is the divine center of the self and might be referred to as one's Soul. While working with the divine world, as I call it, there are some major themes that are consistent from one person to another. These themes are; (1) unconditional love, acceptance and compassion, (2) a total lack of judgement or condemnation. (3) initiation and support of growth in all life including human life, (4) initiates the healing process that resolves damaged or unfulfilled parts of one's life. (5) at the heart of the divine world is creation and creativity, (6) freedom of choice is held sacred and any choice toward growth, healing and creativity is supported, and (7) a consistent attitude of peace and joy. To the degree that one expresses these qualities, one is expressing his or her divine self in relation to others."
