This novel tells the story of a man's convoluted and tumultuous journey through life. The protagonist is best described as a chameleon because of his ability to adapt and blend into unfamiliar surroundings. His journey traverses across three continents. As a young man, he descends into decadence and debauchery before plunging into a life of crime. Surprised to be still alive at thirty, he is rejuvenated with a newfound consciousness. With no prior formal education, he not only manages to become a successful businessman, but he later ascends to great heights of academia. His resurgence, however, does not take place without some intermittent repercussions from his past. The story takes the reader through a rollercoaster of events that reaches the extremities of both highs and lows. Not only is it a tale of redemption, but also one that can serve as an example for so many young adults.
