Crowns of Mercy: Overcoming Depression with the Word of God

Depression. I don't think there has ever been one word that has taken me to the highest of the highs or to the lowest of the lows than the word depression. If you suffer from depression you know exactly what I mean. That. One. Word. I've allowed that one word to steal dreams, relationships, confidence, life, and sadly, the joy of the Lord. If you're reading this, chances are you or someone you love dearly is suffering from depression. Chances are even better that it has stolen some of the same things, if not all of the same things, from you, too.Beloved, please hear me when I say that it does not have to be that way any longer! Our redeemer, protector, creator, and perfecter has given to us a crown more precious than gold. This crown is His grace gift to His daughters. This crown is your rightful inheritance. This crown is a crown of mercy. The power in the Word of God has authority to break every chain, including the chain of depression. God's Word has the power to transform, renew, restore, and heal. It is living and active. God's Word is a weapon that is given to His children to arm them in defense of the enemy. God's Word is the Sword of the Spirit, and it is sharper than any weapon the enemy has in his possession of which to attack. Arming yourself with the Sword of the Spirit is the victory Christ has provided to all who believe that He is the Son of God, and choose to follow Him. Beloved, Christ died to set you free of ALL things that keep you, His precious lamb, in bondage. Depression is just one of those many things. Christ came from His heavenly reign, forsaking His crown, to bring to the daughters of God the crowns of mercy. Daughter, straighten your crown, the King is coming!
