This is a book about an immigrant's life. A young country girl from Brazil that was brought up illegally in London, England. Hellen was in between two worlds, the principles that were given to her as a child and real life. Hellen had to grow up fast and turn into an adult at a young age, she had to learn how to survive for she was alone in the world. Her story is one in a million of immigration stories. Most of the names of the characters were changed. This is a story about overcoming depression, sexual abuses, personal religious beliefs, suicide attempts, abandonment, and heartbreaks. It is a painful, chaotic romance and a study of self-analysis involving cultures and family ties. "An Immigrant's Life" was created to be used as personal therapy. It was a way that the author was able to set herself free from her past traumas. She found comfort by writing poems, painting, and drawing to help herself from the problems she had no answers to.
