In benevolent aspects, he is depicted as an omniscient Yogi who lives an ascetic life on Mount Kailash in addition to a householder with spouse Parvati and his children, Ganesha and Kartikeya. Pancha Bootha temples are located in south India. Pancha Bhoota Stalam refers to five temples dedicated to Shiva.
