Falconis: Eye of the Phoenix
Falconis: Eye of the Phoenix
In this second collection of works, Darion's experience in Arconis has him seeking quieter times with a journey to Pirium. Taking the longer route by land with the hopes of finding some peace in the secluded forests of Almany, it doesn't take long before Darion's campfire attracts unwanted attention from some tricky locals. Forced to trek back into the walled world of others to set things straight from his ill treatment, he must overlook the slights dealt to him in order to relieve the village from an ancient hate that has been plaguing them for generations.
Continuing his journey through the nomadic plains of Pedrea, Darion falls ill to a torturous sickness. With and oddly generous cure being offered in a nearby village, Darion casts aside his wits in order to comfort his suffering while solving the mystery of the illness that has crippled the land.
Making a fast ride towards Pirium, Darion stops at a village to trade his mentorship with the local smith in exchange for the use of the village forge. But when trouble comes for the village blacksmith and his family, Darion is once again forced to abandon his attempts for honest peace in order to straighten out a gang of cutthroats.
Arriving in Pirium, Darion and Carleton are reunited during a local tournament. The prizes for victory are not as simple as the basic coin purses being offered by the king, but also includes the opportunity for service and glory.
