The Trouble with Magical Beings

Nine year old Daniel is flying his kite along the beach late at night when something begins to spark in the tail of it. He's afraid his precious kite is on fire. He doesn't want anything to happen to his kite because his dad built it with him two year ago and they can never build another one because his dad died last year. Daniel discovers the sparks are from a magical creature named Naia.
Naia is a Dolphite, she can fly like a light beam and dive to the depths of the ocean like a dolphin. Her father Kale is King of the Dolphites and has warned her never to interact with humans, they are forbidden to know of magic because they tend to do much harm when they are given it. Naia asks Daniel to free her from the knot, but Daniel asks her for a wish. Naia cannot grant him one and needs to get away before her father finds her, but it's too late. Her father has found her.
Kale is not pleased with his daughter or the small human asking him for a wish, but he asks the child what his wish would be, if he were given one. Daniel tells him he wants to see his father again and explains he wants only to relive a day he'd shared with his dad, a do-over day. Kale is moved by the boy's request. He tells the boy it's not a simple wish and offers Daniel a challenge, an adventure. If he can prove himself worthy, he'll be granted one wish. Daniel agrees and returns the next night to begin his adventure unaware his five year old sister, Jenny, has followed him to the beach. Kale includes her in the adventure and sends Naia along as well, to teach her a lesson.
The adventure will have the trio crossing paths with an angry Poseidon, a suspicious Tarsier, A sneaky snake and an upset Pele. All these magical creatures will judge them and send them onward to new twists before their adventure is over and Daniel discovers if he's worthy of his one wish.
