You will inevitably find that memories and recall can never be distanced nor third-person'd away. That's a given. You are always stuck with the hand that you're dealt.... or the cards that you've dealt out. If you nevertheless persist in trying to de-identify from your former self, are you pre-destined to fail? With an eventual real incentive not to fail, could that be the deal-breaker that tempts fate and overturns chance? It's always possible to rationalize any much desired situation. However once that becomes an unavoidable affair of the heart, the rationale gets to involve two conflicting mind-sets. The other side of any deceitful loving relationship can easily rock the boat. However it may also ultimately stabilize it. As so often happens in a life lived in daily turbulence, the cards can be misdealt to the extent that everything "goes to pot" so suddenly that any intervention becomes unlikely and then ultimately impossible.
