Parenting is a process and one has to go step by step.Same parenting system is not applicable to all stage of life. We have to determine in which stage our child is standing and then according to their age we have to communicate or behave with them."How do I handle my child?" It is a question of all parents. As a parent I also face the same problem and that inspire me to write. As a parent our for most responsibility is to make aware our child about his ability i.e. increase self awareness. There was once a pregnant lion that was on its last legs. She dies soon after giving birth of a little cub. The new born baby do not know what to do and where to go. So, it makes its way into a nearby field and mingles with a herd of sheep. There a mother sheep sees the cub and decides to raise the cub as its own. The lion cub grows up along with the other sheep. Gradually it starts thinking and acting just like a sheep, eat grass. But as the cub grow, it felt that there was something missing because the other sheep would constantly make fun of it for being so different. The sheep would say, "you are so ugly and your voice sounds so weird. Why can't you bleat properly like us?The lion would just stand there and take in all these remarks feeling extremely sad. Some time it felt that it had to leave the sheep community but then the fear of losing of comfort zone stop him.One day, an older lion from a far off jungle sees the herd of sheep and decides to attack it. While attacking, it sees the young lion running away along with the other sheep. The older lion become curious to see what was happening. So, he decides to stop chasing the sheep and pursues the younger lion instead. It pounces on the lion and growls asking it why it is running away with the sheep? The younger lion shakes in fear and says, 'please don't eat me, I am just a young sheep. Please let me go.'Hearing this, the older lion growls, 'What's nonsense! You are not a sheep, you are a lion, just like me!'The younger lion simply repeats, 'no, no. I know I am a sheep, please let me go.'at this point the older lion gets an idea. It drags the younger lion to a river nearby and asks it to look at its reflection. Looking at the reflection, the little lion astonish! What is he seeing? He is not a Sheep, he is a mighty lion! The young lion feels so thrilled that it let's out a mighty roar. The roar echoes from all corners of the jungle and frightens the living day lights out of all the sheep that were hiding behind the bushes to see, what was happening. They all flee away. From that day no longer will the sheep be able to make fun of the lion or ever stand close to it for the lion. The lion also found its true nature and its true herd.In this story the older lion is the self awareness and the reflection in the water is self reflection. When the young lion becomes aware of its limiting beliefs through self reflection it realizes its true nature.Till today I remind the story because by telling this story my father aware me, who am I?Because when a child realize his real power and break the limiting belief his or her potential will increase. They will get the confidence to do what they want to do.
