He leapt another chasm and was finally with her. At least he thought he was. The Woman at his feet did not bear the markings of his people at all. Her body was hot to the touch but he barely registered the fact. His need to check her wounds being too urgent to care. He scooped her into his arms and only one word came to mind. MINE! She was MINE! How it happened he didn't know or care, he just knew she belonged to him. Looking at her in his arms he had to wonder how she was even still alive. So small, so fragile. He didn't know how she had survived the battle let alone the Orb's attack. Thinking of the Orb he scanned the area in hopes of finding it. It wasn't anywhere in sight. Perhaps it too had fallen into the deep fissures when the ground had erupted. He hoped so.
