Now deeply immersed in the first major story arc of this serial, Acton suddenly finds himself all alone as Daul's "dreamworld" falls apart. For as he looks around for help, Acton discovers that everyone has inexplicably turned against him: Daul, Hulka, and even his friends from the Twelve!

Fearing for his life, Acton takes to the mountain's side, escaping the confines of the Covenant and his newfound enemies.
