Brief History of Chemical Warfare and Its Relation to the Corona Pandemic: An Epistemological Appraisal of the Anti-Scientific Bias Underlying Public

This paper, which was written at the very beginning of the pandemic and illustrates just how little our understanding of the COVID virus has progressed since then, argues that the same "Social Darwinian" principles and subsequent blurring of the distinction between science and industry which fueled the development and deployment of the first chemical weapons, are also responsible for the present eruption and mismanagement of a global pandemic. Carefully worded reports from health care officials read more like political statements than scientific facts, and the field of medicine itself has evolved essentially into a system of technology with no coherent theoretical underpinnings, informed by industry and perpetuated by authority. Misinformation from advertising sources, disseminated by an oblivious press quoting the "authorities," has created a situation where strategies for coping with the crisis have not only made it worse, but created chemically toxic conditions which weakened people's natural immunity, making them more susceptible to long COVID. The industry-dependent medical arts, which are hampered by regressive technology, pseudo-scientific theoretical assumptions, and unethical testing practices, cannot help us here; what is needed is an appeal to logic and the application of traditionally "pure," and purely scientific knowledge in molecular biology.
