Gay Tales: Husbands, Lovers, and Others

These stories lived in my head long before I wrote them. They are based on actual events, people, and places in my life. Some of them are playful, some of them are not. They might make you laugh a bit, and perhaps cry a lot. In writing them, I learned much about myself, knowing throughout the process the perception of what I remember and how I have interpreted that memory, are only my remembrance and interpretation. In fact, until I actually wrote them, I was astounded at how different the written stories were from the ones I had carried in my head, some of them since childhood. And I was amazed that as I created each story, I saw myself back in time and space, as if I were there again as a child, or a young man, or a middle-age man, or now as an old man. At any rate, it was a joy to write them, or, in truth to let them write themselves, to speak through me to anyone who might read them.
