Paloua and Kalea expected to marry and live the rich and satisfying lives their ancestors had lived before them. But there were some things they didn't understand...things like their valley being hidden in the center of a desolate island with slopes so formidable that no other island people had ever found their secret paradise. They couldn't have known because their valley walls were so sheer that no one had ever been able to leave. But why would they want to? Their ancestors named the place, Alouda, or All That is Desired, because it was a utopia. Their God, Eloah, provided everything they needed there.
