Even after being reunited with her mother, she sought the love and validation she desired as a child and looked for it in the wrong places. After enduring heartbreak after heartbreak, she found herself. Hard work, determination, and education in the nursing field enabled her to raise her family off welfare, keep them safe, and give them opportunities she had never had. Today, she has a successful career as a nurse practitioner and will soon receive her Doctors of Nursing Degree.
