The Living Word Study On Heart: 30 word studies on the word Heart

The first time the word "heart" is mentioned in the Bible, we find that it is "only evil continually." At that point, God could have started all over again. But He loves man, and therefore, He will deal with the heart. Not only do we see that the heart was "only evil continually", but we see that the Lord was looking at the heart. God doesn't look at the outward appearance of man. That is man's way. God is looking for the heart. He is looking underneath the surface. From this study, we see that God "sees the heart", looks for the heart, and has a heart for the heart. Then, when God saw that the heart was evil, broken, troubled, and lost; He didn't leave it in that condition. Instead, He moved to rescue the heart. He moves to create in us a new heart. God told Ezekiel to tell Israel that when He found Israel in sin, that He would come to their rescue. He says, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh" (Ezekiel 36:26). As God promised Israel, so He promises all who will come to Him in faith. He will give a new heart. It is my prayer that in these studies, God will give you a new heart. He will take the heart of stone out of you and give you a heart of flesh. May God bless you in these studies.
