The Secrets of Searching That Only Librarians Know

Why did I write this book? To empower the reader to more easily answer their questions. Asking Google does not always work or work safely. For important personal and work issues, we are on a journey to solve our quests, make decisions, and change our lives. I have witnessed how Find & Learn skills change lives. As a librarian for forty years, I have served customers at local libraries, college learning resource centers, and corporate information centers. This book presents a new approach, one I have distilled over many years, coming from efforts as in three spheres: librarian, researcher, and teacher. Having seen many falter in their efforts, I carefully came up with a practical approach that works. And followed the recent research in cognitive science, decision-making theory, learning, and information seeking. They confirm, in theory, much of what I have experienced in reality.
