In the 21st century, the challenge of writing content for medical curriculum should not be under-estimated. At present, there are various books focusing on endocrinology with more than one volume; however, those books majorly focus on diabetes mellitus and specialized areas of endocrinology. Most of the published books comprise of edited multi-author works with up to 150 chapters. Seldom, there are a great number of slimmer volumes of brief 'lecture note' variety for the student needing the 'essentials' only. Great number of books published in this field contain illustrative clinical vignettes or clinical cases; although, they are adjuncts at the chapters' end.The approach and style adopted for this book is not at all conventional. We set ourselves for the task to produce a book that depicts effective communication between different parts of the body, which is important for the functioning of any multicellular organism. This task as a challenge to be done in 10 chapters was completely self-imposed. However, the practical realities of clinical endocrinology, our existing integrated teaching ways, and the belief that endocrinology can be best taught using integrative approach, rather than a divisive approach is reflected in this book. The fundamental, scientific, and clinical principles of endocrinology in this book are illustrated appropriately without any using any acronyms, clinical jargons, and eponyms. Moreover, the information is presented in a precise way that is easily understandable for the students. This book is likely to provide a great deal of knowledge to the students regarding the basic principles of endocrinology. The text narrated in this book can be regarded as an experimental text that is based of quirks of nature providing basic knowledge of endocrinology and hormonal communication. As a book, most of the material here exists physically. We really hope that the approach used in writing this book comes out to be educative, and more than that it is enjoyed by the readers.
