In the PART ONE of this book titled: Sowing the Seed of Retrogression, I tried to establish the fact that most of the troubles we pass through every day in our lives are as a result of the wrong sowing we did in the past. We suffer such things as financial distress, health disorders and other sorrows because we had planted wrongly and bountifully in the distant past. Some readers of this book may become skeptical when they check their past deeds along this present thoroughfare and are unable to see where they had gone wrong. But since our main objective in this presentation is to reflect on why our sorrows at present could be the product of our wrongful sowing in the past, we shall put on hold the definition of this "past". Controversy, especially when it borders on the emotions of human belief, has this subtle but dynamic power to overshadow the theme of a message. Be that as it may, there are two distinct price tags you must pay for a successful living. The first is the Cross you must carry as a human being in order to fulfill the promises of God upon your life; the second Cross - the penitent Cross, is the weight of your redemptive work to free yourself from the chains of your past evil deeds. The onus now lies on you to know when you are carrying the Cross due to your calling by God to partake of the bounties of the earth plane, and when you are carrying the penitent Cross due to your own weakness and failings. Above all, it enables us prevent future prospect of reaping the consequences of wrong sowing through rightful living. Of these two Crosses, there is joy in the heart of the wise when passing through the challenges inherent in his calling, but sorrow and bitterness when the challenges are due to his failings. For instance, if you find yourself in prison because you came out boldly to save another who was perishing under false accusations, or just because you stood for the truth, there will be joy in your heart no matter the level of discomfort in your trial. You will be happy because you can always see your Redeemer not far from you. Like a long distance runner, you will always hear the words of the Lord, saying: well-done
