Dr. Bamberg-Merritt has used two evidence based theories to include Cognitive Theory and James- Lang Theory. James-Lang's Theory of emotions reveals that external stimulus leads to physiological reaction. Cognitive Theory reveals that different individuals can see the same situation at the same time and their emotional response can be different. The manipulation of information is one's process and two observations demonstrate a portion of the motivation for the cognitive position.
