Vessels of Honour: Ready for the Masters Use

Over the last twenty years, I have heard many statements made in various churches and on media networks. Many are biblical and unfortunately majority is not from the Bible. There are many in churches that follow after heretics and stand to defend such unbiblical doctrines. There are many going round as of today. For this study, we will be looking at how important the hearts of individuals are to God. The reason I felt the need to respond to this is how some leaders of some churches have made their congregation believe in certain doctrines. There is a word many have used which I believe have put them on pedestals. They call themselves 'anointed men or women of God' and thus untouchable and accountable to no one in their church especially when they are the 'founders.' You hear some of their church members talking about how their pastors are anointed. The word anointing in the Old Testament simply means to smear with oil. In the New Testament, God has made salvation open to all as in John 1:12. God is able to use anyone who makes himself or herself available for the Master's work. True ministers of the gospel are a gift of God to the church and are to be respected and not worshipped. This study looks at how every child of God bought with the blood of Jesus can be used mightily just as those in the New Testament. Jesus sent the seventy because their hearts were ready to be used by the Lord. The Bible did not name them as pastors or leaders. This study is aimed at challenging Christians who want to see God's power in demonstration in their lives. It has all to do with our heart and willingness to obey and do God's Word.
