With his late father's debts cleared - Charlie Berg is determined to continue his journey to find his sister. Sold by her own father to the dastardly Frank Taylor, Charlie is on the road to Nebraska, the last place she was known to be. But Nebraska is a long way, and the west is a big bad place.

Soon enough, Charlie finds himself working on the Turner Ranch in Colorado, helping in search for a killer whom the town folks seem to think looks a lot like him. But why do people seem more afraid of Harold Turner than the supposed murderer? And when Charlie's quest leads him to an unexpected discovery, he realizes he has more to learn about his past than he knew.

But first, he has a town to save.
