If you are anything like me you like to read books that you get so immersed in that you are living the life that your characters are living, you are very much invested in their emotions and you feel real joy and real sadness from the things that happen to those people within the pages of the book. This book is nothing like that. This is the book that you read in-between those books. When you have finished one such heavy, immersive book and are still living in the world where it took you and you don't feel emotionally capable of starting the next heavy, mind-boggling, brain-spinning book yet, you pick up this one.This book is the palette cleanser between two great courses. Or, this could be the book you keep on your coffee table and pick up only in those moments when you don't know what you really want to do. May be when you are all ready to go out and the taxi isn't there yet. Or you are waiting for a telephone call that means a lot. Or when you have put the pizza in the microwave and don't want to watch it spin. Because this is the kind of book that you can open from anywhere, read as much as you want and put it down when the taxi arrives, when the phone rings, when the microwave beeps.Trust me, I did not set out to write an unputdownable book. This is very much putdownable. I just hope it will have you coming back to pick it up again. I won't say that it's all plain sailing and flutter of a butterfly's wings, there is an odd post or two that might give you some food for thought or god forbid, some inspiration to do something brave, but most of these posts are just idle musings of my mind which I think you will find amusing. Since I am Indian by birth and spent several years in that culture, you will find a few posts that talk about things from that culture and even some words of Hindi or Urdu. Don't worry I have translated everything when I have used any language other than English. You did say you like watching movies with subtitles, didn't you? If this book were a boxer, it would fight in the featherweight class, if this were a plane, it would be the piper cub, if this were an Avenger, it would be the Hawkeye. I think you get me!
