Priest in a Suitcase

Thirty-year-old James Fenwick from Northern Ireland never thought he would become a Catholic priest. His heart was set on becoming either a motor mechanic or joining the Army. His father, however, was keen to have a priest in the family, so the young James obliged.

Following his ordination, he is placed in St Matthew's parish in Liverpool but the numbers attending Mass are declining. When he is offered a relocation to rural Cheshire's "New Pastures" he is reluctant but has no choice.

He struggles with self-belief yet continues to try his best for his flock. While he awaits the building of a new church he holds a daily Mass in his new home - a council house on the estate - and Sunday Mass in the local Church of England school.
